Derived from the mighty northern mountains, these mighty rivers have supported agriculture-based civilizations of India for thousands of years. Bordered by Pakistan to the north-west, China, Bhutan and Nepal to the north, Myanmar to the east and Bangladesh to the east of West Bengal, India's position has given her a strong hold amongst the SAARC nations. Its also act as an entrée to these SAARC Nations.

India is the world's twelfth largest economy and has changed into the second fastest growing large economy. Though it still suffers from high levels of poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, nobody can deny its strong socio-economic transformation.
