Day 01 : Cochin Apt - Hotel ( 30
kms / 45 mini)
Arrival
at Cochin Apt/ Rly. Transfer to Cochin Hotel. Check in your hotel around
12:00 hrs. After lunch, proceed for sight seeing of Cochin - Cochin is
situated on the shore of the Arabian Sea, and is popularly known as the
Queen of the Arabian Sea. It is the commercial capital of Kerala. Later, go
for sightseeing to the magnificent Mattancherry Palace, the colourful Jewish
Synagogue and the St. Francis Church where Vasco da Gama was first buried. A
short walk away is the ethnic Chinese fishing nets, introduced to Cochin
from the court of Kublai Khan. In the evening, proceed to view a Kath Kali
show in an amphitheatre with Mudras and make up demonstration. Spend the
night at Cochin.
Day 02 : Cochin - Munnar ( 140 kms / 4 hrs )
After breakfast, proceed to breathtakingly beautiful Munnar - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's Own Country. Unending expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and mountains - exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air are some features that characterize this place. The attitude is 1600-1800 mts from above sea level and temperature is min.0 deg. Cel. and max. 25 deg. Cel. India's highest tea estate, and Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri tahr, is located nearby. Later, check in at your Hotel. Overnight at Munnar.
Day 03 : Munnar -Thekkady ( 110 kms / 3 hrs.)
After breakfast, proceed to Thekkady (Periyar Wild life Sanctuary). On reaching Thekkady, check in your hotel. Thekkady is a repository of rare and endangered flora and fauna, the valley is a major watershed for two important rivers-the Periyar and the Pamba. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride at Periyar Tiger reserve to view the wildlife in the sanctuary. The boat ride on the lake is a delightful way of spotting elephants and avifauna, for which the park is well known. Overnight at Thekkady.
Day 04 : Thekkdy - Vagamon ( 60 kms / 2 hrs.)
After
breakfast, depart to Vagamon (hill station). This place is considered to be
the Switzerland of India. Vagamon is a special destination in the country
where we can see Barton hills (meadows), pine forests and greenery all
around. This place is 1100 metres above sea level and the temperature
fluctuates between 5 to 20 degrees year round. This has been declared as a
special tourism zone by the government.
Day 05 : Vagamon - Kumarkkom ( 120 kms / 2 hrs )
After breakfast, depart to Kumarkkom. Check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise (2 hrs.) along the Vemband Lake. This is the best way to explore the bird sanctuary. Kumarkkom is set against the backdrop of rich green paddy fields and still grey waters. Today, plush resorts scattered around a large lake and delightful backwaters have transformed this once quiet settlement into a sought after destination. Stay overnight at Kumarkkom.
Day 06 : Kumarakom- Alleppey ( 30 kms / 45 mini.)
After breakfast, transfer to Alleppey, popularly known as the "Venice of the East". Here a houseboat awaits you, for a magnificent backwater cruise. You will be able to observe how Kerala functioned in the earlier days from today's modernization. These backwaters were the only means of transport to carry inland products to the coast. The narrow canal cuts through the countryside and you are transported to places where time stands still. An eventful day passes and you turn in for the night after a fresh sumptuous dinner. Overnight at the houseboat.
Day 07 : Cochin
After a leisure breakfast, bid adieu to your crew and drive to Cochin Apt/ Rly.
